We like to eat...

I noticed that I put a lot of pictures of the kids eating in this post... really we do more than eat!

Hans has not only learned to walk, thank goodness, but he has mastered the art of climbing...on everything!

A cold treat was needed. We are on the back patio since we have carpet throughout the apartment...




"I love to see the temple. I am going there someday."
We took the kids to the Columbia River Temple for family home evening. Elise was so excited to be able to walk around and see all the beautiful flowers. The gates ended up being lock even though it was told to us that they would be open during the summer. Oh well. We had fun anyway. There were plenty of wonderful flowers outside the gate.




Hans will get to the temple another time.



Our family home evening treat was delicious!



We are having a blast this summer as you can see. I went to the doctors last week and the baby is doing very well. It is very active which makes the doctor have to work for his money to find the heartbeat as well as take pictures of it, but it is all great. We will see the doctor the 15th of August for our 20 week apt. and probably will find out what we are having. Stay tuned! I will be starting shots to help prevent preterm labor... hopefully I will be able to stay active through the whole pregnancy with the shots. Once a week a nurse will come to my house to administer the shots and evaluate how the baby is handling them. We pray all will go smoothly... keep us in your prayers, too.

I seem to forget to write about Nic. He is what keeps our family going. He is loving his job and loving even more being a daddy to his crazy children. We sure love our Daddy. He teaches mission preparation class and is enjoying that very much. He has come to love the boys and they have really taken to him. It will be hard for Nic to watch them go, but it will be neat to hear of their experiences. All of our 7 missionaris are gong to Brazil, but will be in different missions!

Our day at Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium

We went to Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium over the 4th of July weekend. We had a great time!

Hans and Elise took the opportunity to snuggle with Daddy...really they wanted breakfast! Hans loves giving hugs...gently!



We took Elise on a carousel a few years ago and she cried almost the whole time. She loved it this time!



Hans could have waited another year!



There was a playground for the kids to experience animal life. Elise was just all enough to see over the corral.

What is going to the zoo without some ice cream?! As you can tell, it was very warm out. Ice cream was a wonderful treat.

Nic and Hans are looking at something...I guess it wanted to hide!



Hans loved the camels. They were giving rides, but I am sure he would not have liked it. Perhaps next time.



The tiger was happy to watch everyone that had come to watch him. As it turns out, he is undergoing chemo for cancer in his throat. His keeper said that he is doing really well. They hope that he recovers soon. He is a new daddy to two cubs.



We ate lunch as we watched a show about animals from around the world. Ofcourse they could not have a show without a bald eagle.



There were numerous types of sharks. Elise was a bit skeptical at first, but then was eager to go right up to the glass and watch them swim around.



Hans had to keep his eye on the fish. He was not going to trust that they would not get him if he turned around!


We look forward to going back and seeing some of the exibits that were not open. We hope that you are all having a wonderful summer!

Cool Desert Nights

Each June there is a weekend called "Cool Desert Nights" where owners of antique, and some not antique, cars come and show off. It was neat to see the various kinds of cars that came. Some were fully restored, where others were "works in progress." We had a great time seeing them all! We did not register the Edsel this year, but we will next year! We did drive it around and had so much fun!











Surprise!! We are expecting another little Holland! We are 14 weeks due January 9, 2012. We are very excited to welcome another Nic or Kari to our home.
