Almost 7 Months and Counting!!!

Hello everyone,
Recently we found out that we don't get anymore ultrasounds!!! That made us very sad because we want to see our baby!!! Baby sure is moving like a little fire-cracker!!! I think if it's a boy its nickname should be "Sparky"...either that or "Spunky"...Who knows!!! We love baby so much!!! Take Care everyone-
Love Nic

Hey Guys! Nic taught me how to post things on here...maybe we will be able to keep up better. Anyway, how are you all? I hope that you are all well.

Jessi, my friend, gave me a baby shower on the 12 of April. She made awesome invitations and invited friends from the ward, community, and my swimming class. It turned out to be a nice party with lots of fun and games. Ofcouse there had to be some excitment with baby doing rolls and tumbles the whole time. Baby knew the party was for itself. We got many gifts of lotions, baby shampoos, and various other things. We are so grateful for all that baby received. Thank you to everyone!

My birthday was on the 13th and boy was it crazy! Nic spent all day Saturday, while I was at the baby shower, shopping for very specific gifts. Sunday, throughout the day, I opened them little at a time. He sure has a sense of humor! He bought me a keyboard at a Pawnshop even! Who would have thought to go there???!!! Connie, one of my college roommates, and family friend, came to visit that evening on her way back home. It was great to visit with her. Nic invited some of his buddies from school over for dinner without me knowing. They showed up and it turned into a party of parties! Nic had not made the cake yet, so into the kitchen he went. He was saying that he had never made the chocolate pudding cake before so Kyle, one of Nic's buddies, popped into the kitchen and together they made the cake. It was hilarious to watch the two of them making a mess of the kitchen, yet trying to keep things under control. When the time came to have cake, not only had the boys prepared the scrumptious pudding cake, but Nic had bought an angel food cake with strawberries also. What a guy!! That is my favorite!!! Points were earned all day for him! I was able to talk to many of my family; it was a very nice day.

Well, ofcourse I have to talk about baby again. I am very tired most days, but I have learned to give in and take a nap. It has really made a difference in my days to do so. Nic likes to be around me more when I take naps:0) Baby is usually very active during the day. Some days are better than others, but baby really likes to move and groove. Baby has discovered the joy of putting feet into my ribs...those of you who have had this joy, you can empathize with me. At the last doctors appointment, baby weighted in at about 3 pounds and a little more than 15 inches. I have gained 15 pounds with the doctor wanting another 10 pounds-ish. I guess I just keep eating; baby will keep growing! We put up the crib the other night...we are getting excited. I bought some cloth diapers...we are going to try them out. I know...call my crazy. We want an adventure! Daddy continues to talk with baby; he loves to tell baby stories or just kiss baby. He is such a great Dad already. I look forward to the day when Nic will be able to hold his little precious in his arms and feel the gentle movements of baby for himself. He looks forward to that day also. But in due time...right?!

Nic will be done with school for the semester next week. We are so excited for him to be doing so well. He has really been blessed in his studies; he has worked very hard. He has completed his Thesis research, for the most part, and will be writing the Thesis paper in the fall. He will have one or two classes in the fall also. This has been something that he has looked towards for a long time, and now it is here! It is crazy to think that come December he will graduate and then will be off in the big world of working full time! I am so proud of him. He has come so far in the past year and a half, not to mention all the years of hard work that came before. Thank you to everyone that has had a part in encouraging and supporting Nic in his studies as well as his life in general. It has not been in vain. He, and our family, could not be where we are without all of you.

I had better stop writing before you are all asleep! I am just so grateful for the many blessings that I enjoy each day at the hand of the Lord. Nic and I are so happy to be where we are in our lives. Nic is doing so well in school, we have a wonderful child on the way, and we have such wonderful friends and family that love us. Heavenly Father has blessed us greatly.

Take care everyone! We will hopefully write again soon. I know that you all want pictures...that will have to be another day....perhaps tomorrow...

Hugs and love to you all!

Kari, Nic and Thumper
